Everything you need to get in tune
Needle or strobe
Read the offset in cents on a needle with a green zone of ±3 cents, or switch to a strobe band that stands still when you are in tune.
Instruments and tunings
Guitar (standard, drop D, DADGAD, open G, open D and more, 7-string), bass (4, 5 and 6 strings), ukulele, violin, viola, cello, double bass, mandolin, banjo, bouzouki and oud.
Guided string by string
Auto mode recognises which string you are playing. Tuned strings get a tick, and you see when the whole instrument is in tune.
Calibration and transposition
Set A4 anywhere from 410 to 480 Hz (432, 442 and 443 included) and read notes for B♭, E♭ or F instruments.

Tips for tuning
One note at a time
Play a single string and mute the others: several notes at once confuse any tuner.
Tune up to the note
If a string is sharp, go below the note first and then bring it up. The string holds its pitch better.
Quiet room, close microphone
Hold the phone or laptop close to the instrument. Background noise and fans make the reading wobble.
Let the string ring
The first moment of a pluck is a little sharp. Read the needle once the note settles.

Click the lock or settings icon next to the address, set Microphone to Allow and reload. On a phone, also check that the browser may use the microphone in the system settings.
What does transposition do?
Players of B♭, E♭ or F instruments (trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, horn) can read the note as it is written in their part instead of concert pitch.
